and they will test this celibacy how? get real!
Gee, I've been celibate for 14 years, and I have AIDS. Perhaps I should make a trip to the U.K. ;-) CM, in Toronto. I'm still using my organs, thank you very much.
Let me see if I understand this correctly... if you have sex with men, you have to wait 10 years without sex to give blood. Hmmm, hardly seems you could be of any benefit in event of an emergency. And, does being "hetero" reduce your risk of passing along HIV, let alone any other number of blood-borne illnesses? Someone, PLEASE explain the logic in this. It just reinforces what I have thought all along, "It's what you don't know that'll hurt you!".
Should we not also require that heterosexuals be celibate for 10 years? After all, heteros are the fastest-growing group infected with HIV.
Hell, if you've been celibate for the last 10 years, you might as well donate your organs!!! SOMEONE should be using them!!
Rick
Gee, isn't it easier and "cleaner" to simply require any blood donor to be HIV free? Sexual orientation is a silly barrier. It is blood borne infection which ought to bar donation, nothing else.
