I'm living with HIV, but I also was diagnosed with depression. Are there any concerns about which meds I should take?

Depression is to generalized for me when I read it, real depression is never by itself, so to say, "other psychosocial issues," why they aren't listed to me is STIGMA to those who are Bipolar and Chronic Mental illness. Lets call it what it is, and stop skirting the issue. The lGBTQ Community who wave Stigma word daily, stigmatize against those who are mentally ill in the community and especially those dual diagnosed HIV and Bipolar. Isolation you nailed that!!!

After trying a number of SSRIs, SNRIs etc. I stumbled upon Nefazodone (generic for Serzone) and have been on it for years. It's wonderful! Unlike the others, this chemical does not negatively impact my sexual performance and in fact, may actually enhance it a bit. Nefazodone used to be widely prescribed but fell out of favor because of some reported liver impace (1 in 250,000 cases!). I told my psychiatrist I was willing to take those odds and am SO glad I did. I highly recommend this drug.
