More to the point of the animal testing debate...I'd personally smear a thousand monkeys in eyeshadow and lipstick while injecting them with SIV if i thought it was an effective way to achieve the cure. I don't think it is though. Different virus. Different animals. Since there seem to be no shortage of PETA pozzies who would willingly put themselves in danger to move science along, why don't we let them have their way so that everyone wins?

just a question. is this site going to wait until everyone's cured before actually creating a TAB that says 'cure'? I mean, it doesn't have to have info that says 'there is a cure for hiv' but i think it's about time...! That should have been here from day 1. Hope saves lives, and now hope is important in these crucial moments towards developing strategies that will cure more than just Tim Brown. C'mmon poz. Thank god i knew how to use google news when i was diagnosed or i would have lost hope

Glad to see that Poz posted something about the phase 2 cure trials Sangamo's doing.. I'm already signed up to get screened, this will be my 2nd attempt.. wish me luck! Hopefully, despite the bitterness I've discovered throughout the poz community about the four letter word, when I'm cured, I won't have to give a damn. Stay pessimistic all you want, i'll keep moving in the Present. We're in an unprecedented time in this fight and we can close in on it now. I've been shouting this since 2yrs ago

Macintosser - Oh, congratulations on being so virtuous and against animal testing for HIV - the deadliest infectious disease in human history killing millions of animals every day - the human kind - including babies, children, and anyone else victim to the disease. Why don't you bash cosmetic companies testing new lipsticks on animals before grandstanding against scientists that are trying to save the lives of millions of animals like you and me? Some people will find any reason to be negative

Sadly this story is getting tons of coverage even though its about a vaccine that isn't nearly as promising as the various cure developments. Not surprising though. Big pharma has what's called 'public relations' and they bury the news in anything that isn't related to a cure. The sad part is that this website would be hook line and sinker with the hype. How about covering the act that phase 2 trials for a CURE are underway. Then again with all the pharma ads on this site i'm not surprised.
