I can't get access to the original article but from the abstract it doesn't look like they took into consideration how long the person had HIV before they became 50 years old or what their nadir CD4+ count was. For example, I have been infected since 1985 when the test was first approved in Canada. Therefore, I was living with the infection for about 26 years before I turned 50 and had a nadir CD4+ count of 167. If I live the 22.8 years past 50 , which would be good but not realistic. can't fini

newrepublic(dot)com article 117740 charts-startling-scary-statistics-about-hiv-aids-united-states Asking questions and mentioning facts is not about being "bitter". Good for you that you are NOT one of the 66% of HIV+ Americans who are without access to (at a minimum) adequate HIV treatment. Are the owners of this web site suggesting that all (less fortunate) HIV+ Americans move to Denmark? This study is irrelevant to the 66% of HIV+ Americans who don't have access affordable treatment.

Please, nobody mentioned the pharma companies, this was a study in Denmark. It's terrible you are so bitter you cannot even read a positive article without lashing out.

And what do the pharmaceutical company accountants say about the life expectancy of poor HIV+ people who don't have access to HIV medicines? Or the HIV+ people who lost their home and transportation paying for their HIV medicines?
