The article seems pointless, but sensational. Two actors + unprotected sex = STD transmission. This is not revolutionary. Let's blame the Nevada adult film industry for not using the test that detects early infection on adult actors who are compensated for their work. There's a lawsuit in there somewhere. Am I missing something?
If he can prove infection happened on the job, I see a VERY interesting Workers' Compensation claim brewin'.
They're using HIV antibody tests, which only tell you what your HIV status was as of MONTHS AGO. The human immune system needs anywhere between 6 weeks and 6 months to begin production of HIV-specific antibodies following viral infection by HIV. So the HIV antibody test results are automatically outdated every time the test is taken. The only time-accurate test is a VIRAL LOAD TEST, which will instantaneously detect the presence of the actual virus itself (rather than the antibodies).
Why aren't all porn actors, male and female on PreP? Seems like a logical step for anyone in this profession.

There is a rudimentary version of the HIV anti-body test that is available over-the-counter. The HIV Viral Load Test must be ordered by a doctor via lab testing. Insurers often refuse to cover the more costly Viral Load Test unless the patient is HIV+. Theses are among the many reasons why the entire U.S. 'prevention' strategy is fundamentally flawed.
