As a 61yr old gbm who is poz,i have retired from a sex life, not by choice, what a slippery slope we are on,young gay men do not want to be lectured,to be young now with sex available on your smartphone,i don't know how a court can prosecute one person, you view every stranger as h.i.v,no matter what he says, its not what his test said last month, but what he did last week, use that same phone to get informed, know the laws of your state, please register and vote, our lives depend on it this time.

The criminalization of HIV is a real threat to the public's health. These laws only stigmatize and promote further discrimination against PLHIV. The only way we will realize an end to this pandemic is ending the stigma and ignorance surrounding the HIV virus. HIV trives in the darkness of ignorance, it is time to shine the light of education and scientific fact upon HIV and end the needless stigmatization that drives people away from testing and treatment.

Like the article stated, the problem is in getting people to test. And test regularly. Even when they are reported, it is still hard to get them to test. It is easier to prosecute if they have been reported, but if they have not tested, it is hard to prosecute. Though prosecution is not the answer. The answer, like certain other countries is to get them into treatment. The law is part of the problem of testing. Treatment without prosecution is the answer. that and affordable medications.
