I’m resistant to non-nukes, so I need a protease inhibitor (PI) to power my combo. The PIs gave me diarrhea, and I started losing weight. I drank my way back to fighting form with Ensure, a nutritional brew that’s delicious and dairy-free (I’m lactose intolerant). I was nervous about bringing Ensure to my grad-school classes, because I thought it might give away my HIV status. But the trendy containers look just like other power drinks—let the guys think I’m a health nut. Nutty indeed: Butter pecan is my fave flavor.
