If your eyes glaze over at global AIDS stats, a new three-author book, Global AIDS: Myths and Facts, will help you focus. Well-researched if heavy-handed, each easy-to-read chapter takes on another assumption of the “it’s hopeless” school, arguing, say, that it’s not “corruption” and “promiscuity,” but economic inequality that fuels the raging pandemic. While making its case, the book proves a tad anemic on how to rage against it.
