Can Your Inner Ham

Plot Line Gather a group of HIVers to share experiences; take detailed notes as the basis for your script. And have a trusted peer or licensed counselor lead the session. “These are deep issues,” Copeland says.

Supporting Cast Group members discuss health and emotional issues and give each other “constant feedback”—and often a ride to doctors’ appointments.

Acting Out Commitment upstages acting skills—make sure players are ready to give 100 percent. Remember, it’s about HIV, not h-a-m. You’re already a star.
