Florida Department of Corrections head med David Thomas, MD, is on a mission (with a few bucks from Agouron Pharmaceuticals) to boost HIV care for South Floridians behind bars. The program will connect the disconnects so that care and meds aren't disrupted when positive patients are transferred from jail to prison to street. Thomas' endeavor includes a weeklong intensive training program for docs working the clinks.
