Test and Tell

by Denny Lee

A Tulane U. study showed that women with HIV and HIVers with CD4 counts below 200 were the most likely to reveal their status to family and partners. Three-quarters had informed their steady sex partner, but only 25 percent made a habit of telling one-night stands. Those who disclosed to casual partners were twice as likely to use a condom.
