When Rwanda's extremist and majority Hutu ethnic group committed genocide on Tutsis and moderate Hutus in 1994, they left behind a terrible legacy: Two-thirds of thousands of women who were raped during the mass killings are now infected with HIV. A Rwandan association (AVEGA-AGAHOZO, or "widows of the genocide") recently brought the chilling facts to light after completing a study on the atrocities.
