A belated tribute is due to Larry Madeiros, 38, a leader in the hemophilia community, who died in September of hepatitis-related liver failure while waiting for a transplant. Madeiros and his wife, Carol -- who is continuing his advocacy work with Positudes -- appeared in POZ ["Fertility Rights," May 2001] to talk about sperm washing, which helped prevent HIV transmission to Carol and their kids, Ashley and Taylor.
