Senegalese nonprofit ProMeTra reported that, in its three-year study of 62 HIVers on its herbal combo MeTraFAIDS, more than half saw viral loads drop 66 percent, while 44 percent boosted CD4s up to 70 percent. Study head Erick Gbodossou, MD, called the brew, studied to NIH protocols with $2 million from the Ford Foundation, "an African solution to an African problem."
