GSK Has a Change of HAART in India

August 21, 2006—GlaxoSmithKline dropped its application today to patent the HIV drug Combivir in India. Local activists had opposed granting such a patent on the grounds that it would raise prices and put local generics producers out of business. But GSK said its decision was an internal matter, not related to the protests.
