HIV Criminalization on Trial in Kansas

August 22, 2006—The lawyer defending a Kansas man accused of exposing five women to HIV is challenging the validity of the state’s law requiring disclosure between sex partners. The lawyer, Thomas Johnson, contends that the law is too vague and does not adequately consider condom use or whether the plaintiff is infected with HIV.
