Clinton Blocks Ryan White Renewal

August 23, 2006—New York Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton is holding up Congressional renewal of the Ryan White Act in an attempt to get more funds for New York and other densely populated states. Critics claim the move is politically motivated: The states that would benefit are those she needs to win if she runs for President, and those that would lose money tend to vote Republican.
