August 28, 2006—Erectile dysfunction drugs like Viagra and Cialis are fueling an HIV outbreak among Texas elders—and nationwide. The over-55 crowd has less HIV awareness than much of the rest of the population and accounted for 8% of new infections nationally between 2001 and 2004. Texas AIDS advocates propose offering free condoms and sex ed in retirement communities.
