Fighting HIV Along the Gulf Coast

August 29, 2006—Just in time for today’s one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the National AIDS Fund and the Ford Foundation unveiled a new Gulf Coast HIV/AIDS Relief Fund. The groups are granting $500,000 to AIDS-related projects in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Many areas affected by Katrina have not had access to adequate resources to rebuild their HIV services.
