Drug-Resistant TB in Africa
September 8, 2006—A deadly, drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis is prompting alarm in Sub Saharan Africa, especially for those with HIV. Forty-four of the 53 known to be infected were HIV positive people, for whom TB is the most common opportunistic infection.
