New CDC Testing Rules Wouldn’t Fly in NY
October 2, 2006—Today’s New York Times explores the conflict between new federal testing recommendations to do away with written consent and an ‘80s-era New York State law requiring a signature. New York City Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden began pushing last December to change the written consent law, one of about a dozen such state rules around the country.
