FDA Approves Two New HIV Tests

October 6, 2006—The U.S. Food and Drug Administration yesterday approved Aptima, a blood test to detect HIV before antibodies show up. Also this week, a separate test to screen donated blood, plasma and organs for HIV, hep B and C won FDA approval.
