October 10, 2006—The nation’s first-ever electronic network to pool information about the effectiveness and side effects of HIV meds was announced today. The system, which will allow doctors to monitor patient experiences at seven major medical centers, is intended to give them a broader view than most clinical trials, which rarely involve more than a few hundred people.
