U.S. Still Pushing Sex Worker Pledge

October 11, 2006—The U.S. Justice Department filed an appeal yesterday to overturn a May ruling against a Bush administration policy requiring that AIDS groups sign an anti-prostitution pledge before receiving federal funds. The Justice Department contends that the requirement is “highly germane” to the fight to reduce new HIV infections.
