HIV Sky High Down Under

October 12, 2006—The rate of new HIV infections in Australia has risen by 41% since 2000, prompting speculation that the prospect of effective treatment is causing people to have unsafe sex. Also this week, an Australian court heard evidence in the trial of a man accused of intentionally infecting 16 men with HIV, including a report that he counted 200 partners with whom he’d had unprotected sex in one year.
