Vaccine Ready for Human Trials?
October 18, 2006—An HIV vaccine developed in Ontario could go into human trials next year if the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approves. The vaccine, which has been shown to boost the immune response of monkeys, uses an entire (dead) HIV-1 virus, while past vaccine attempts have only used part of HIV’s genetic material.
