New Jersey Abstains From Feds’ Sex-ed
October 27, 2006—New Jersey officials penned a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt this week rejecting federal funding for sex education because it stipulated that the state must offer kids abstinence-only ed. The letter added that accepting the funds might actually end up costing the state as they would have to deal with the consequences of giving kids faulty information.
