Syphilis and Sex in China
Syphilis in China has skyrocketed from .2 cases per 100,000 in 1993 to 5.7 cases per 100,000 in 2005, sparking concerns that HIV rates may follow. The syphilis increase marks a high incidence of unprotected sex and those infected with syphilis are more likely to contract HIV when exposed to it.
