Norvir Scandal Makes it to the Hill

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), is considering holding hearings to investigate charges that Abbott Laboratories hiked the price of HIV med Norvir in order to increase the market share of its other drug, Kaletra. In 2004, then-Energy and Commerce
Committee Chairman Joe Barton (R-Texas) turned down requests to investigate the case.
