Clinton Knocks Down Drug Prices
Former President Bill Clinton announced new agreements today between his foundation, international drug organization UNITAID and generic manufacturers that will lower the price of second-line drugs in the developing world, as well reduce the price of a first-line, one-a-day AIDS drug to less than $1 per day. The price of the second-line treatments would drop by an average of 25 percent in low-income countries and 50 percent in middle-income countries.
