A new study will look at whether or not using strong treatment on people with HIV who have low viral loads can actually cure them over the course of a year. Researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who released a study yesterday showing that 7.7 years of combination therapy can significantly reduce the levels of HIV in a person’s body, say the next step is to see if this kind of treatment could lead to a cure.
