Rapid Tests Are a Hit in the ER

Routine rapid HIV testing in emergency rooms is cost-effective and popular among patients, according to a George Washington University study published yesterday. About 60 percent of patients accepted the offer to be tested, and researchers found that the cost per case of detecting HIV in the ER was lower than other methods of early detection.
