New Global Testing Guidelines

The World Health Organization and UNAIDS released new guidelines today on HIV testing and counseling that emphasize provider-initiated HIV testing, as opposed to testing requested by patients. The recommendations aim to increase the number of people who know their HIV status and to diagnose positive people earlier, while their infections are more treatable.
