More Indian Drug Users?

A new study by the Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses suggests that injection drug use and the accompanying HIV/AIDS risk in India may have been underestimated. The study, backed by UNAIDS, showed that almost 60 percent of the drug users studied regularly shared needles and syringes. The findings follow an announcement last week that the overall HIV count may have been—to the contrary—overestimated.
