Not Just Straight Talk
Middle and high school health classes in Montgomery County, MD will be adding homosexuality and gender identity next fall. In sharp contrast with the abstinence-only education favored by more conservative communities—and by the feds—Montgomery teachers will devote two 45-minute lessons this fall to discussing sexual orientation with 8th and 10th graders, in addition to a 10th grade lesson and instructional DVD on proper condom use.
