Nearly all the HIV-positive women who reported having unsafe sex  in a U.S. study published in the June issue of American Journal of Public Health said their male sex partners pressured them not to use condoms. The problem of women’s often compromised ability to demand safe sex also came up this week in Kenya, where an Episcopalian Archbishop John Njue spoke out in favor of using condoms in serodiscordant relationships. Njue made his comments in preparation for an international conference about HIV among women.
