Could Surgical Slips Cause Hep C and HIV?

The New York Times reports on the risk of surgeons who have  HIV or hepatitis infecting patients during medical procedures. The story profiles two patients from Long Island, New York, who were infected with hep C after undergoing open-heart surgery performed by a doc who was later diagnosed with the virus.
