The California State Legislature is considering a bill to allow HIV positive men to use reproductive services in order to strip their sperm of HIV so they can impregnate their partners. Delaware is the only other state with a law barring such couples from using the services.
Beth Benne, RN, is HIV negative, but
the virus has impacted her life. She currently supervises a biannual HIV/AIDS awareness week as
the director of the student health center at Pierce College, a
community commuter school in Woodland Hills, California.
