Texas Medicaid to Cover Resistance Testing

November 2, 2005—The Texas Medicaid program will cover tests to determine whether HIV positive folks are resistant to specific HIV drugs, test-maker Monogram Biosciences announced today. The genotypic and phenotypic tests are already covered in 48 other states and Washington, DC. Three out of four people living with HIV develop resistance, and one out of four is already resistant when diagnosed.
