State Department HIV Case Back on Appeal
by Staff
December 5, 2005—Lambda Legal
filed a challenge today to the State Department’s ban on hiring HIV
positive Foreign Service officers, appealing a spring 2005 ruling on a case known

the department’s Foreign Service exam, but his status nixed an officer
job. A federal district court judge ruled in April that he was asking
for unfair accommodation.
