Samuel Ganafa, executive director of Spectrum Uganda Initiatives and board chairperson of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), allegedly was arrested and had his home searched without a warrant, according to a Spectrum Uganda statement. The group also claims that he was given an HIV test without a court order or his consent. A man named Disan Twesiga alleges that Ganafa gave him HIV. Spectrum Uganda claims this incident is part of a series of arrests targeted against LGBT people in the country.
