Death Penalty Overturned in Libya AIDS Case
December 27, 2005—The Libyan Supreme Court ordered a retrial over the weekend for five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor sentenced to death on charges of purposefully infecting Libyan children with HIV. Families of the children protested the ruling, some clashing with police; talks agreed to last week about the establishment of a special fund to support the children were postponed till next month.
