February 27, 2006—The HIV rate among Latina women in California is now about double the rate for white women in the state, and about 30% of all positive women in the U.S. are Latina, according to an article over the weekend in the LA Times. A Prensa Latina story yesterday estimated that there are at least 100,000 HIV positive undocumented workers in the U.S.—but that underreporting makes it hard to gauge the real scope of the problem.
