Burmese Prisoners Dying of AIDS

March 16, 2006—At least forty prisoners in Burma’s Tharawaddy Jail may have died of AIDS already this year. On average, two prisoners die there every day from various diseases, according to anonymous medical sources contacted by a Burmese website. The International Committee of the Red Cross was barred from visiting the notorious prison late last year.
