Trizivir Gets Tagged

March 22, 2006—GlaxoSmithKline is tagging bottles of HIV med Trizivir with tiny silicon chips to protect the patent and prevent counterfeiting. The FDA has asked pharmaceutical companies to develop drug-tracking technology in hopes of implementing such a system widely in the next few years on a range of medications.
