HIV Rate Drops In India

March 30, 2006—New HIV infections among pregnant women between 15 and 24 fell 35% in India between 2000 and 2004, according to a University of Toronto study. Experts attribute the drop to education and increased condom use, but caution that overall, the epidemic continues to grow, with India now reporting 5 million infections.
