Generic AZT Capsule Wins Approval

March 31, 2006—The FDA today approved generic zidovudine (AZT) capsules for sale in the United States. The 100mg pills, which will be manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma in Hyderabad, India, are the third AZT generic approved in the US; a tablet and a liquid formulation got the OK in September 2005.
