World Health Day: Where Are All The Docs?

April 7, 2006—On the occasion of World Health Day today, the United Nations  lamented a critical shortage of health care workers in developing countries, where diseases like HIV are exacerbated by the problem. The report noted, for example, that “29% of Ghana's physicians are working abroad, as are 34% of Zimbabwe's nurses.”
