Flashback to February 11, when New York City health commissioner Thomas Frieden made his bombshell announcement about a 40something gay New Yorker's recent infection with an apparently untreatable strain of HIV and the poor guy’s devastatingly rapid progression to AIDS. A public health emergency was officially announced - followed by an explosion of "supervirus" headlines.
Today, two months later, amidst much chatter and little news, the "emergency" still holds.
