May 3, 2006—Eleven percent of HIV positive gay and bisexual men and 18% of positive straight people choose to abstain from sex, according to a study in the American Journal of Public Health. The abstinent gay and bisexual men reported that they had made the decision to protect others, while the heterosexual respondents said it was due to poor health.
